Vermilion Expands Deep Basin Footprint with Acquisition of Westbrick Energy

Vermilion Energy announced it will acquire Westbrick Energy for $1.075 billion in a strategic move to scale operations in Alberta’s Deep Basin. The deal adds 50,000 boe/d of production, bolsters Vermilion’s drilling inventory with 700+ high-return locations, and deepens its exposure to gas and liquids in the region. Vermilion emphasized that the acquisition improves full-cycle margins, extends production visibility for over 15 years, and enhances free cash flow. CEO Dion Hatcher called the move “a significant step forward” for Vermilion’s North American high-grading strategy.
